Installation Tutorial


Screen 1 IMail Installation - Screen 1 When this initial screen appears, the first of six (6) in all, simply click on the button labeled "Next" which appears at the bottom.

Screen 2 IMail Installation - Screen 2 STEPS:

  1. Enter your name exactly as you wish it to appear on your email messages.

  2. Enter your email address.

  3. Click on the button labeled "Next" when you are satisfied that everything entered is correct.

STEPS:

  1. Enter the domain name or the IP address of your email POP (Point of Presence) server for incoming mail.

  2. Enter the domain name or the IP address of your SMTP (Standard Mail Transfer Protocol) email server for outgoing mail. NOTE: These will generally be the same.

  3. Click on the button labeled "Next" when you are satisfied that everything entered is correct.

STEPS:

  1. Enter your email account name. NOTE: This may be case sensitive. Upper and lower case matter on most systems.

  2. Enter your email account password. NOTE: You will not be able to see the password as you type for security reasons. Be accurate and remember case sensitivity.

  3. Click on the button labeled "Next" when you are satisfied that everything entered is correct.

STEPS:

  1. Select an option by clicking on the radio button corresponding to the type of connection to your email server that you have. Most connect via modem.

  2. Your default Windows 95 Internet Dial-Up Connection will be displayed if it has already been defined.

  3. You can modify its properties or create a new Dial-Up Connection using one of these buttons.

  4. Click on the button labeled "Next" when you have selected the correct connectivity mode and Dial-Up Connection.

Screen 6 IMail Installation - Screen 6

Click on the button labeled "Finish". Your IMail initial set up is complete. You can alter these settings inside IMail later if you need to do so.
