<SPACER> Command

Command Syntax:
<SPACER command parameters>
Places a horizontal or vertical blank space within an HTML document depending on the values set for the command parameters. The command is only supported in the Netscape browser at this time.
The functionality of this command can be replaced with the use of tables or by placing suitable transparent inline images.

Command Parameters:

align="alignment"

Where permissible alignments are:

left - forces the spacer to the left margin and wraps text around it to the right. right - forces the spacer to the right margin and wraps text around it to the left.	baseline - aligns the bottom of the spacer to the baseline of surrounding text. texttop - aligns the top of the spacer to the top of tallest letters in the surrounding text line.
top - aligns the spacer to the top of capital letters in text surrounding the image. middle - aligns the vertical center of the spacer to the baseline of surrounding text. bottom - aligns the bottom of the spacer to the baseline of surrounding text.	abstop - aligns the spacer to the absolute top of the ascenders of surrounding text. absmiddle - aligns the spacer to the absolute middle of surrounding text taking into account the ascenders and descenders. absbottom - aligns the spacer to the absolute bottom of the descenders surrounding text.

height|width="pixels"

When the spacer type is set to block the height and width of the can be set in pixels.

size="pixels"

When the spacer type is set to vertical or horizontal either the height or width, respectively, can be set as the size in pixels.

type="block | horizontal | vertical"

The command attribute sets the type of spacer to be placed where:

block -
declares that the spacer will be placed as a block with an associated height and width in pixels.
horizontal -
declares that the spacer will be placed as a simple horizontal white space with the width set as a size in pixels.
vertical -
declares that the spacer will be placed as a simple vertical white space with the height set as a size in pixels.

Examples:

Now is the time for
<spacer type=vertical size=20>
all good men to come to the
<spacer type=vertical size=20>
aid of their country.

Yields in the Netscape browser -

Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their country.

One
<spacer type=horizontal size=20>
Two
<spacer type=horizontal size=20>
Three.

One Two Three.
