About the Artists

     Lawrence M. Kirwan has been well-known for some time in the Winston-Salem, Piedmont Triad area as a professional hammered dulcimer player.  Starting out as a percussionist, he picked up the hammered dulcimer in 1986, and has been impressing audiences with it ever since.  Mr. Kirwan has played Celtic music in bands as well as professionally at weddings in the Triad area.  He obtained his BA in music [Percussion] from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 1995.  He brings his knowledge of music theory, various percussion instruments and hammered dulcimer to fruition with his performance in "A Dulcet Christmas".

     Christopher Ralph is a 1996 graduate of the North Carolina School of the Arts with a bachelor's degree in Voice.  Mr. Ralph's tenor has been heard in the Winston-Salem, Piedmont Triad area for many years.  He has been an active member of the Piedmont Opera Theater and various church choirs as well as singing at weddings, funerals and other events since 1990.  Mr. Ralph is a self-taught baroque recorder player, trombone player and keyboardist.  He is also a composer of  Classical and New Age music.
