Licensing my original compositions is easy!
Use the following outline as a guide to determine what fee schedule you will
need to license under. (Normal version)
- Free Private Use
Who can use it?
How can it be used?
- download and use for personal entertainment only
- do not distribute any downloaded files
- Commercial Use
The Fees
- 7¢ (U.S.) royalty, per file, per *unit, up to 100,000 units
- 5¢ (U.S.) royalty, per file, per unit, over 100,000 units
Who can use it?
- Entrepreneurs
- Small Businesses
- Mid-sized Companies
- Large Corporations
- Non-profit Organizations
(including government offices or branches)
How can it be used?
- use in production media (cassettes, CDs, DVDs, videos, etc.)
- use in broadcast media (radio, TV, satellite, etc.)
- use in software (video games, programs, JAVA applets, etc.)
- use in hardware (cellphones, pagers, PDAs, etc.)
- use in political venues (speeches, campaigns, debates, etc.)
- use in performance venues (plays, musicals, concerts, etc.)

- 1,000 impressions on a Web page
- one copy of media or software
- one broadcast
- one use
- one audience member
- One-time Fee
The Fee
- Negotiated one-time fee per file
Who can use it?
How can it be used?
- use with complete autonomy (no use limitations)
- Commissioned Works
- Variable fees depending on project needs and time involved
- rights to commissioned work(s) transfer(s) ownership upon completion
- negotiated on a case-by-case basis
